I got tired of fixing them so I moved them...

I didn't do much - I just got sick of the switch in the armrest/door pull never working. I took a pair of switches out of a 1987 5000s donor vehicle and cleaned them up till they worked, cut their mounting bracket down to a minimum, built a cool used Audi parts harness to extend the wiring, and mounted them in the underdash panel to the right of the steering wheel. They are fused now, as well, in tandem with my new power windows, through a nice little Audi style two fuse block.

When I changed my dashboard, unfortunately I only had panels which had the heated seat control cutout, so I mounted my mirror switches there. Someday I'll get a panel from a car without heated seats and clean it up a little.

Luckily I had a parts Coupe without power mirrors so I used the armrest from it to replace mine - voila, no ugly holes to patch!

It's so nice having power mirrors that always work. You don't operate them much (mine is prettty much a one driver car) but when you need them, you need them.

I'm really unimpressed with putting delicate, poorly sealed switches in the driver's door armrest where they are exposed to all the weather and, facing up, accumulate all manner of dirt and grime. Ten years of use and there's no way they are going to work well.

I also sketched out my wiring diagram on this one and stuck it in the back of my Bentley. I'm sure I'll have to work on them someday and I don't want to have to figure it all out again!
