Main Group IX: Electrical
- Separate and clean all electrical connections that are outside the passenger compartment
- Cruise control hoses

- Alternator if that doesn't help
- Two or three power window switches
- Headlight switch
- Headlight switch socket
- Relay headlights, replace switch and socket again
- Power mirror switch

- Speakers
- Power antenna
(In short: if it isn't painted the same color as the body and wasn't replaced recently, plan on buying a new one.)
The following items will need to at least be tested for proper operation:
- Oxygen sensor
- Fuel distributor potentiometer
- CIS-E temperature sender
- Radiator fan thermoswitch
- Idle stabiliser valve
If any two items on this list apply, please save everyone the trouble of worrying about your car and get a nicer one to play with:
- Any rust except "surface" blemishes
- It runs poorly and you don't fully understand how CIS-E works
- The clutch makes funny noises or slips
- The exhaust manifold leaks or has broken studs
- Coat hangers or zip ties are used to hold more than two systems together
- The ashtray is full
